Comprehensive Evaluation

The complete consultation is covered under OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan) and partially covered under RAMQ (Régie d'Assurance Maladie du Québec). The portion of the consultation that is not covered under RAMQ can be submitted to personal health insurance for possible reimbursement.​

Medical History

You will have a thorough discussion around your past medical history. This will include a review of your signs and symptoms of vein disease, past vein treatments, past history of blood clots, what medications you are taking, and other medical conditions that you have. We will also screen for family history of vein disease including blood clots.​

Onsite Ultrasound Assessment

The physical exam will comprise of a detailed evaluation and mapping of your vein anatomy. An ultrasound of your legs will be performed to properly assess what vein(s) is the source of the problem. Please bring loose fitting shorts to allow for an easier ultrasound assessment.

Education

Your personalized treatment plan will be discussed and you will have lots of time to ask any questions you may have. Materials will be provided listing tips and recommendations which should be followed prior to and after treatment.

On-site Compression Stockings

Finally, you will be measured and fitted for customized graduated compression stockings. Dr. Amyot’s staff is certified for the proper fitting of prescription strength stockings.
